Rules

Be decent to people and this place works fine.

These rules can change. The #rules and #news channels in our Discord are the live version, and this page is updated when they change, so it is worth checking both.

These are the rules every player on Loadd SMP agrees to when they apply.

1 Respect everyone

  1. Slurs and hate speech

    Racial, sexual, religious or any other slur, and any hate speech, wherever it appears: chat, signs, books, item names, skins, or the Discord. Instant ban lasting one year, with no same-day appeal.

  2. Harassment

    Targeting someone to make them miserable: following them around, baiting them, ganging up on them in chat, or carrying a grudge from one session to the next. Warning, then jail or mute, then a ban if it keeps going.

  3. Impersonating staff or players

    Claiming to be staff, claiming powers you don't have, or using a name or avatar meant to pass as a staff member or another player, in game or in Discord. Instant ban with no appeal.

  4. Mocking or piling on

    Making fun of someone, or joining in when someone else does. That includes their builds, their balance, their stats, and any punishment they've had. This is an all-ages server and it stays a decent place to be. Warning, then jail or mute, then a ban.

  5. Sharing someone's private information

    Posting another player's real name, location, face, or anything else they didn't put out there themselves. Instant ban with no appeal.

  6. Arguing with staff over a decision

    Disagreeing is fine. Arguing about it in chat won't change it and only makes the evening worse for everyone else. Open a ticket and make your case there; that is how decisions get looked at again.

2 Chat

  1. Spam and flooding

    Repeating messages, walls of caps, or flooding chat with commands. Warning, then jail or mute, then a ban.

  2. Begging

    Repeatedly asking other players or staff for items, ranks, or tokens. Once is a question. Over and over is begging.

  3. Advertising

    Promoting other servers, Discords, channels, or services, in chat, on signs, in books, or in your name.

  4. Sexual content

    None, anywhere: chat, signs, books, item names, skins, or builds.

  5. Keep it appropriate for all ages

    Players here range from kids to adults. If you wouldn't say it in front of a ten-year-old and their parent, don't say it here.

3 Fair play

  1. Hacked clients and x-ray

    Any client, mod, or texture pack that gives you movement, combat, or information a normal client doesn't, including seeing ores or bases through blocks. Performance mods and minimaps without cave or entity views are fine. Not sure about something? Ask before you join with it. The ban is temporary or permanent depending on what you did with it, and you can appeal it through a ticket.

  2. Duping

    Using any bug to copy items. If you find one, report it and don't use it. Temporary or permanent depending on what you did with it; appeal through a ticket.

  3. Auto-clickers, macros and automation

    Anything that plays the game for you. Treated exactly like hacked clients.

  4. Lag machines

    Builds made to hurt server performance. Normal farms are fine. Ask staff before building anything unusual.

4 Other players' stuff

  1. Claims are absolute

    If it's inside someone's claim, it's theirs. Claim your own base with a golden shovel as soon as you pick a spot, and nobody can touch it.

  2. Griefing and stealing

    Breaking or altering someone else's build, or taking from their chest or claim. First time is a jail and giving back what you took. Second is a longer jail and a mute. Third is a ban.

  3. PvP

    PvP is on outside claims, and you lose what you're carrying when you die. That's the game, not a rule break. Inside a claim, nobody can touch you.

5 The live map

  1. Don't hunt people with it

    Finding someone yourself is part of the game. Using the live map to track down someone who is trying to avoid you is not, and it's treated as harassment however it's done. Warning, then jail or mute, then a ban if it keeps going.

  2. When staff say leave someone alone

    That isn't a suggestion. Go after them anyway and expect a jail or a mute.

6 Your account

  1. It's yours, whoever was at the keyboard

    You're responsible for everything done on your account. "My brother did it" isn't a defence. We have no way to check, and accepting it would excuse anything.

7 Appeals

  1. How to appeal

    Most bans can be appealed through a ticket in our Discord. One ticket, an honest account of what happened, and a few days' patience. We're a small team and a person reads every one. Opening a second ticket does not make it faster.

  2. Hate speech bans

    Run one year, with no same-day appeal.

  3. What has no appeal

    Staff impersonation, sharing another player's private information, and spamming applications.

  4. If you are 12 or under

    Ask a parent or guardian to open the ticket with you. Discord requires its members to be 13 or older, so younger players send their appeal from the ticket system on this site instead, with a parent or guardian, and the adult receives our reply. That page is only for players 12 or under; everyone else appeals in Discord.

This list is a minimum, not a limit. Anything built to cheat, automate, exploit, or harass is against the rules whether or not it is named here, and "it wasn't written down" is not a defence.
